Alfred Scheidegger, PhD, Founding Partner
Prior to founding Nextech Venture Ltd., Mr. Scheidegger was managing director and member of the board of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland. He served as the first managing director of the Swiss Supercomputing Center (CSCS). Before that, he managed an international drug-discovery project at Ciba-Geigy (today Novartis), Japan. He is co-initiator of the first national business plan contest Venture 98. Mr. Scheidegger holds a PhD in microbiology from the University of Basel, Switzerland, and has completed a post-doctorate research fellowship in enzymology at the University of Kyoto, Japan and an executive training program at Harvard Business School, USA. Mr. Scheidegger was member of the board of directors of Ganymed Pharmaceuticals, Germany. |

Myoung-Ok Kwon, PhD, Managing Partner
Prior to joining Nextech Venture Ltd., Ms. Kwon was with Novartis International as a senior research planner and scientific assistant to the head of corporate research. She has obtained scientific training in genomics, virology, molecular genetics from Korea, USA, Singapore and Switzerland. Ms. Kwon holds a PhD from Novartis Research Foundation, Friedrich-Miescher Institute/University of Basel, Switzerland. She is a member of the board of directors of ImVisioN Therapeutics, Switzerland. |

Rudolf Gygax, PhD, Partner
Prior to joining Nextech Venture Ltd., Mr. Gygax has been managing director of Novartis Venture Fund since its inception. Previously, he held various positions in the management of research and development at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis). Mr. Gygax has studied physical chemistry at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and Stanford University, USA. He served on the boards of nine companies and is currently chairman of Covagen and board member of Synphabase. He is advisory board member of several Swiss associations active in the field of Biotech start-ups. |

Prior to joining Nextech Venture Ltd., Mr. Végh has been CEO of The Genetics Company, Inc. Previously, he held various positions in the same company, from senior scientist to head of business development and intellectual property. Mr. Végh has studied biology and molecular biology at the Universities of Basel and Geneva, Switzerland, and received the MBA from University of St. Gall, Switzerland. His previous fields of research were in oncology and Alzheimer's disease. |

Roland Ruckstuhl, CPA, CFO, Partner
Prior to joining Nextech Venture Ltd., Mr. Ruckstuhl was at Ernst & Young, Switzerland, in various functions and industries. He was engagement partner and accepted by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission as lead auditor of banks and security dealers. Mr. Ruckstuhl has graduated in economics at the University of St. Gall, Switzerland and holds a Master of Advanced Studies of Economic Crime Investigation. Since 1984 he is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the board of directors of the Sparkasse Horgen AG. |

Camille Therre, Investment Analyst
Prior to joining Nextech Venture Ltd., Mrs. Therre has acquired a sound background in valuation, financial analysis and business administration through her studies at the University of St Gallen. Her analytical qualifications are strengthened by the experience she gained in supporting new ventures as well as in sourcing deals within the Start Global Foundation. Ms. Therre has co-founded the ETHZ-HSG network dedicated to emerging technologies. |
