Nextech Venture contributes to Venture 2002 - Alfred Scheidegger member of the jury committee and coach

"Venture - Companies for tomorrow" is the motto of the national business plan contest which started for the third time. The contest was initiated in 1997 by Thomas Knecht, CEO of McKinsey & Co. Switzerland, and Alfred Scheidegger, at that time member of the board of the ETH Zurich, in order to promote entrepreneurship in Switzerland and especially spin-offs form the universities.

As in the past the projects of this year's Venture 2002 will be evaluated by experts and the winners selected by an highly reputed jury. Alfred Scheidegger of Nextech Venture was invited again to be a member of the Venture 2002 jury committee, thereby joining well-known industry and business personalities. Dr. Scheidegger is also active as coach to the participating projects.

Venture 2002 has broadened its scope of concept now also allowing participants who are not connected to a university, thereby giving a loud call to everybody with innovative business ideas. The Venture 2002 contest is sponsored by Ascom, Global life Science Ventures, Novartis Partners Group, Roche, SNI-RSI, Swiss Re, SWX Swiss Exchange, McKinsey & Co. and ETH Zurich.

Today, the initiative has become an important part of the Swiss start-up and venture capital scene. A total of 1000 participants from universities and economy have created more than 400 business ideas and 150 business plans. Half of them resulted in newly established companies. Due to the participation at the contest many young companies have succeeded to get financing. This huge success was possible by the support of 140 coaches from industry and venture capital, who offered their know how and experience in all kinds of disciplines.
