The Genetics Company Inc. renews Long Term Supply Agreement with JSW-Research Ltd.

The Genetics Company, Inc., a privately held Swiss company focusing on the research, development and commercialization of products for the diagnosis, monitoring and therapy of patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease and cancer, announces the renewal of the existing long term supply agreement with JSW-Research Ltd., an Austrian based leading contract research organization with special expertise in neurodegenerative diseases. The successful cooperation between The Genetics Company and JSW-Research over the last three years was decisive for both Companies to prolong the agreement. Within the scope of this agreement, The Genetics Company, Inc. is supplying JSW-Research Ltd. with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) based test kits for their Alzheimer's disease (AD) pre-clinical and clinical contract research for another three years.
The Genetics Company's ELISA test kits enable the specific and reliable detection of two variants of human beta-Amyloid (AB), AB42 and AB40. AB is a key protein associated with the pathogenesis of several neurodegenerative diseases such as AD and stroke. The AB42/40 ratio has been validated as highly sensitive and specific biomarker for diagnosis of incipient AD. Furthermore, the test kits are used in clinical trials as drug monitoring tools or for efficacy studies of beta-Amyloid lowering drugs in animal models.
